Essential Skills for Facilitating: part 1
Course Description:
In a hybrid working environment it is important to be able to facilitate inclusive virtual and in-person meetings. Facilitating is both an art and a science. The ability to facilitate is a challenging skill. It is even more challenging when you have to facilitate remotely. Group working is an essential part of modern organisational life and a group’s effectiveness is often greatly influenced by the ability of the facilitator working with them. The facilitator acts as an enabler, bringing different people together to produce results greater than those that could be achieved individually.

Objectives:
 
Learn how to confidently facilitate virtual and in-person meetings by –
  • understanding the three basic principles of facilitation
  • identifying the key skills/qualities of a great facilitator
  • understanding the difference between teaching, mentoring, coaching and facilitating
  • practising the art of being a great listener.
