Course Description:
Training comprises aspects of ADR regulations relevant to UCL van drivers and how they can ensure compliance.

  • To refresh awareness of ADR regulations, why transport is highly regulated, how to recognize dangerous goods in packages and the marking and labelling required of those packages.
  • Shipper responsibilities and restrictions under ADR
  • Transport category limits and why the UCL procedure ensures compliance and allows driver decision-making
  • Classes and quantities that may be taken, including exceptions
  • Security
  • Emergency response

  • The role of the UCL DGSA to support queries

    To learn relevant aspects of the ADR regulations to transporting dangerous goods in UCL vans and the UCL procedures ensuring compliance.

    Course pre-requisite: Attended the Awareness or the Transport of Dangerous Goods Regulations course
  • Objectives:
    To understand the driver responsibilities of transporting dangerous goods

    To understand the procedure adopted by Logistics to ensure compliance

    To understand which classes of dangerous goods are allowed and in what quantity

    To know the classes forbidden, why, and how to recognise and refuse them

    Intended Audience:
    Any staff who are involved in driving dangerous goods on behalf of UCL.
