Book covers

Book. The Years of Leguía (1919-1930)
The Patria Nueva was intended to mark a turning point and a restart of Peruvian republican life. Inserted in global processes of capitalist modernization, it was a period of important social, political and cultural changes. However, beyond the rhetoric, there were also surprising continuities, which force us to reevaluate Leguía's government and consider both its antecedents and its consequences and legacies.

Book. José Carlos Mariátegui o el “cojito genial"
The book observes Mariátegui's work, actions and decisions from another perspective. Drinot shows that the essential characteristics of how Mariátegui has been perceived in political and intellectual terms are linked to his illness and disability. The ideas of heroism and fervour, dedication and agony, that mark his work are related to the way in which his friends, biographers and commentators tied his words and actions to the painful journey of illness.

Interview. Read the op-ed on the critical situation faced by Peru’s National Archives in La República.
