Meetings

TuesdayÌýFellows Teaching:Ìý1:30Ìýpm in GWB and online via Teams

Fellows present a guideline, a study and review how were all progressing -including consultants!

What does the Fellowship involve?

Fellows rotate between

  • Clinical timeÌýon the PACUs (Post Anaesthetic Care Unit – a surgical critical care/HDU),
  • Having dedicated time andÌý£10,000 (for fellows staying a year) to go towards MSc/PG Certificate/PG Dilpoma work,
  • Leadership
  • Preoperative week includingÌýprehabilitaion and high risk clinics (Frailty, ÌýMDT)
  • Postoperative Sutgical Rounds egÌýNELA (NationalÌýEmergency Laparotomy Audit)
  • Quality Improvement projects

Each fellow has a mentor- one of the clinical POMÌýconsultants
As consultants we're heavily invested in how our fellows are doing- at work, study and outside. At least Ìý3 times a year we have formal departmentÌýmeetings afterÌýwhich we go for dinner together; consultants and fellows.ÌýÌý
