Job Vacancy: Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in Archaeological Science

The UCL Institute of Archaeology currently has a vacancy for an Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in Archaeological Science (Ref.: B03-02083). The deadline for applications is 10 July 2024.

A part-timeÌý(40%FTE) Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in Archaeological Science is sought to teach the undergraduate module ARCL0045 Archaeometallurgy and contribute to other undergraduate and postgraduate modules, supervise undergraduate dissertations and postgraduate dissertations on the MSc in Archaeological Science: Technology and Materials programme, contribute to the profile of Archaeological Science at the UCL Institute of Archaeology, and to assist more generally with teaching and administration as required. These roles are partially shared and blended with other teaching and administrative roles of core staff members of the UCL Institute of Archaeology.

The postÌýis funded forÌý5 years from 1 October 2024 – 30 September 2029, providing cover for Miljana Radivojević for the period when she will be on research leave as PI of an ERC-funded project.

The successful candidate will haveÌýa PhD in Archaeometallugy or Archaeological Sciences. Candidates must be able to deliver undergraduate modules and Masters teaching in Archaeological Science, as well as contribute to other modules at undergraduate and Masters level in line with their subject and regional expertise.

Applications are especially welcomed from candidates whose teaching strengths include instrumental analyses of metal artefacts and debris, metallography and Bronze Age metallurgy.
