YiMovi is a new initiative in the ongoing collaboration between PKU and the UCL China Centre for Health and Humanity (CCHH). It aims to raise public awareness of?Sinophone film and the cross-cultural Medical Humanities, and to explore?representations of social and cultural?issues related to health, medicine and the body in 20th and 21st century China through the medium of film.?

The YiMovi Film Exhibition 2017 features three films that tackle major challenges in understanding disability in China. Each film will be introduced by the director and/or experts in film studies and healthcare. Together we will explore the visual cultures of sensory perception, and the self-help communities that have (or haven't) grown up around those that are vulnerable. We will see how film is being mobilised to change public perceptions and focus the attention of policymakers and healthcare administrators, while also crowd-sourcing funding to support the work of those dedicated to making a difference.
