With the continued success of the UCL community choir, relaunched in December 2023, we now have 85 members! It is clear from the Tuesday lunchtime choir sessions this activity is becoming increasingly popular – the positive energy and joyous atmosphere is infectious! Thanks also to Gitika Partington, our choir director, who makes each session fun with her excellent teaching. Dates and details for the Autumn term will be coming soon… watch this space.Ìý

About the choirÌý

Originally formed in 2018 with 100+ members, the UCL staff singing club staged several successful performances, both on campus and elsewhere. Following lockdown, a three-year hiatus, and then a one-off gig in the summer, interest in the choir was reignited – and the newly-renamed UCL Community Choir was relaunched in December 2023.Ìý

It is an a capella choir open to all staff and PhD students, taught again by the amazing professional choir leader, Gitika Partington. Members learn all types of pop/world/folk and original pieces. The choir is open to singers of all experiences, there are no auditions, and you don’t need to read music. Members learn together with helpful resources. It’s a great way to spend your lunchtime, improve wellbeing and make music with other colleagues.ÌýÌý
