WEISS at MICCAI 2020

From 4-8 October, the 23rd international conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI) took place virtually, welcoming over 2700 participants from all over the world.

The annual MICCAI conference attracts world leading biomedical scientists, engineers, and clinicians from a range of disciplines associated with medical imaging and computer assisted interventions, and is a staple conference in the WEISS calendar.

This year was a particularly exciting year for WEISS, with an outstanding 9 WEISS papers being accepted to the conference! Not only this, but WEISS members also received an impressive number of awards over the 5 days…

Sophia Bano, Francisco Vasconcelos, Marcel Tella Amo, George Dwyer, Caspar Gruijthuijsen, Emmanuel Vander Poorten, Tom Vercauteren, Sebastien Ourselin, Jan Deprest and Danail Stoyanov won the IJCARS MICCAI 2019 Special Issue Best Paper Award with their paper entitled: .

Not only did an impressive 3 WEISS projects make the final for the MICCAI 2020 Educational Challenge, but we also scooped first place! Congratulations to Nina Montana Brown, Yunguan Fu, Shaheer Saeed, Adrià Casamitjana, Zachary Baum, Rémi Delaunay, Qianye Yang, Alexander Grimwood, Zhe Min, Ester Bonmati, Tom Vercauteren, Matthew J. Clarkson and Yipeng Hu for winning the educational challenge with . Congratulations also to Matt Clarkson et al. with their submission and Fernando Pérez-García with his work for making the final!

Zach Baum, Yipeng Hu and Dean Barratt won best paper at the MICCAI Advances in Simplifying Medical UltraSound (ASMUS) workshop with their paper: .
