Professor Wyse spoke about education and its contribution to human knowledge at BERA’s annual conference. In particular, he looked at relationships between academic disciplines, policy and practice.

Having recently been appointed to the role of President, Professor Wyse’s talk explored how education has developed over time and its role as a vital part of human knowledge. 

He examined the history of education, different educational theories and how education compares to other disciplines of study. The latter parts of Professor Wyse’s speech saw him explore education practice in relation to education research and how education can contribute to knowledge in the future.

Dominic Wyse is Professor of Early Childhood and Primary Education at the IOE and Director of the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Pedagogy.
