New publication highlights huge growth in global education and learning research

A new handbook on global education and learning edited by UCL Institute of Education (IOE) academic Professor Douglas Bourn was published this month.
The book launch that introduced took place at the IOE in early March. The handbook is a comprehensive 33-chapter book of writing on global education.
The major new collection features the work of eight UCL academics including editor Professor Bourn, Co-Director of the Development Education Research Centre at the UCL Institute of Education.

These issues have gained momentum worldwide, not only in the political agenda of many European countries but also within school practice and academic discourse. Despite this, there is yet to be a substantial publication that attempts to bring together the main elements of key debates in these areas.
The Bloomsbury Handbook aims to fulfil this role, as well as providing analysis of policies and suggesting new directions for research.Ìý
Written by a diverse group of renowned scholars from around the world, the handbook is a key resource for academics, researchers, policy-makers and practitioners who need a clear picture of global learning.
