Researchers asked what they think about medicines regulations

14 March 2012

The MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulataory Agency) is asking for feedback over the next 5 weeks on how to streamline the regulations governing its work.

The invitation is part of the Cabinet Office's Red Tape Challenge. The challenge gives researchers the ideal opportunity to have their say on which regulations should be kept, simplified or scrapped.

Every regulation will be reviewed by the MHRA who will decide on the action it needs to take. The proposals from the MHRA and the regulations are then reviewed by a ministerial "Star Chamber".

The Joint Research Office aims to support clinical investigators in developing high quality clinical research proposals for approval and regards the Red Tape Challenge as a good opportunity for investigator teams to provide feedback on the current UK Clinical Trial Regulations.
