Description
This module introduces students to psycho-social theories and research on aspects of resilience and wellbeing across a range of domains, including social, environmental, health, community and positive psychology, addressing how individuals respond to risk and uncertainty in contemporary society. Students will be encouraged to think broadly about wellbeing and resilience across these different domains, as well as to reflect upon the intersections between psychology and other social science disciplines (e.g. sociology, economics, environmental studies, public health and epidemiology, public policy, and behavioural science). Throughout we will take a reflexive approach, drawing on work from global and local scholars. In doing so, we will ensure we holistically examine a range of psycho-social phenomena from different cultural perspectives.
