Global cinema is an exciting new perspective and cinematic development for film studies.ÌýThis module aims to elucidate howÌýthe globalÌýin global cinema acts as a register to how all nations originate in and remain deeply embedded in global norms, but also how the local allows the practices of globalization to flourish. We will think about cinema in a global perspective, from its production contexts, distribution and circulation, and in the ways it can deal with global themes and issues that can cut across national boundaries, often from a local perspective. We will cover different film movements, genres, directors and issues such as film censorship, race, and film criticism in our explorations of thinking about cinema from a global perspective.ÌýÌý
