UCL SSEES Student Wins Prestigious Young Researchers Award from Central Bank of Macedonia

Nikita Ristovski, a History, Politics and Economics BA student 澳门历史开奖记录's School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES), has been awarded the Annual Prize for Young Researchers by the Central Bank of Macedonia.

Ristovski鈥檚 dissertation, supervised by Professor Nauro Ferreira Campos, Professor in Economics at SSEES, focused on the economic benefits of EU accession, a topic of significant political relevance for both North Macedonia and Brussels.

The award was given on 26 April 2024, coinciding with the commemoration of North Macedonia's monetary independence. The Annual Prize for Young Researchers aims to promote young researchers and contribute to the development of research in the country in the fields of macroeconomics and banking. Ristovski's dissertation, 鈥淚ntegration-Driven Economic Growth: 鈥淭he Case of North Macedonia鈥檚 Integration in the European Union,鈥 earned a first class honours.

During the award ceremony, attendees, including Governor of the National Bank and Evaluation Board members Vice Governor Ana Mitreska, Director Biljana Davidovska Stojanova, and Deputy Director Gani Ramadani, emphasised the importance of supporting young researchers. The awarded papers will be presented at upcoming Research Club sessions of the national bank, which represents a centre for further development and collaboration of researchers in this field.聽
