Support for live online and hybrid teaching in Term 2

A summary of the guidance and help available for staff conducting live online or hybrid teaching in Term 2.
It is clear that COVID-19 disruption will continue for at least part of Term 2听and that this may lead to more hybrid and live online teaching.听We know this can be challenging but there is听guidance available and help on hand. should you need it.听
Guidance听on hybrid, online teaching听and audiovisual equipment
Online and 'basic hybrid'听teaching resources are available on the Teaching and Learning Portal, as well as an outline of the听technology available to support hybrid teaching in classrooms听and support with using听Audiovisual听equipment. See the following pages for this guidance:
The Digital Education team are also offering new听development sessions听to support:
- Designing asynchronous learning activities听

Some students who cannot travel to London due to new restrictions have been offered flexibility to temporarily study remotely.听If you're struggling with how to keep remote learners up-to-date with module content, there's a community on hand to help! Browse the content of the听Connected and Blended Hub听for ideas and inspiration or bring your own ideas, questions or issues directly to the new听. The Teams area is听a place to discuss your plans or concerns, and ask questions of colleagues听across UCL as well as in your own faculties.听
Getting help听
Some lecturers encountered AV problems and problems running hybrid sessions in Term 1, so additional support staff will be on hand in Term 2.听 It is听really听important that lecturers report any problems to ISD so that we can resolve them not just for their class, but also for the next class to use the room!听
Please seek immediate help or report problems by听phone or live chat:
- Using the pre-programmed phone in the room (in most teaching spaces), or
- Using a UCL phone to call听extension 51972, or
- Using a mobile to call听020 3108 1972, or
- Use the live chat facility available on the Help and support 辫补驳别.听

Changes to departmental teaching spaces
The shift of some of departmental teaching spaces to the pool of centrally bookable spaces has caused some challenges for lecturers as those rooms don鈥檛 have the same IT or AV setup as in other teaching spaces.听
To address this,听managed PCs have been added where space allows and phones have been installed in all spaces.听The longer-term aim will be to install standardised AV in these spaces but this will not be possible in time for teaching in Term 2.
